Why we give.
In Matthew 14, Jesus fed five thousand men (not including women and children) by multiplying five loaves of bread and two fish. He made a very interesting statement in Matthew 14:18, just prior to multiplying the food. Jesus said, “Bring them [fish and bread] here to Me.” Multiplication always occurs when you bring something to Jesus. The Bible tells us that Christ (Jesus) is the head of the church (meaning the church is His body). So, when you give at Heritage (bring your tithes and offerings to Christ), you will be blessed and it allows us to show the love of Christ to the community (locally and globally), spread the Gospel to the lost, and transform lives.
God is generous and so He calls us to be as well. What we do with what God has given us shows the world where our hearts are at and helps proclaim the gospel. We want to glorify God with every area of our lives, and that includes what we do with our finances.
The word "tithe" literally means tenth or 10%. Tithing, or giving ten percent of your income, isn't merely giving something to God. It's giving back what was his to begin with. All that we have, or hope to have, comes from him. The Bible says that tithing is a reminder that God is the supplier of everything. It teaches us to always put God first in our lives.

How are gifts distributed?
- 40% stays within your home group (HotSpot) to bless your community.
- 10% goes to finance home and foreign missions, disaster relief and seminaries.
- 10% goes to start more HotSpots across the country.
As Cross Waves Church continues to grow, our goal is to have our HotSpots keep a higher percentage of their contribution to spend towards ministry within their community.

At Cross Waves, we only receive financial gifts through online giving, or mailing checks to the Church office. This frees up our hosts of any financial fiduciary responsibility.
